Kylie Ann Minogue was born May 28th 1968 in Melbourne, Australia.  She first appeared in fame as an actress most notably for her part 'Charlene' in Neighbors, arguably one of the most popular acts in Australia.  Doing a charity gig in association with Neighbors, an Australian soap, she sang Little Eva's 'The Loco-motion'.   She was thus signed to Mushroom Records in 1987 and released the retitled 'Locomotion' which spent seven weeks at number one in Australia.   The success resulted in her first album 'Kylie' which became the best selling album in 1988 and fifth in the 1980s in the UK.   Since then Kylie has released 8 additional albums plus a greatest hits collection.
